Revoke Sharifeh Mohammadi’s death sentence and release her!
2025-03-06

Sharifeh Mohammadi is a labour movement activist in Iran who has only spoken out and worked in support of the demands of millions of workers in the country. She has been imprisoned under harsh conditions for over a year, and she has been sentenced to death twice. She collaborated with a public organisation—the Coordination Committee for Helping to Form Workers’ Organisations—which has been openly active in Iran for years. She should not be imprisoned for this, let alone sentenced to death.
The pressure, imprisonment, and repression of labour movement activists in Iran are happening while Iranian workers live below the poverty line and face worsening conditions every day. They have the right to protest against this situation. Sharifeh Mohammadi, like millions of Iranian workers, has merely protested against these inhumane conditions and should not be in this situation.
We demand the cancellation of her death sentence and her unconditional release. We also call on all labour organisations, activists, and freedom advocates to support her by signing this statement or taking any other possible and practical action to help secure Sharifeh Mohammadi’s freedom.
Her life is in danger. Let’s unite and help her!
